About

Community

We recognise our most crucial customer in our name Henderson and Taylor (PUBLIC Works) Limited.

Everything we do affects communities. CommunitySo our people strive to provide a level of service that does more than get the job done; it improves people’s daily lives for the long-term.

Core to the way we do business is providing leadership and a spirit of partnership that enables communities to develop and thrive. Working with a staff who live in the area makes public works all the more effective as they are often the same people who will benefit from quality jobs done with minimal disruption to the public.

We know that the public are not really interested in the process of maintaining public goods like the Footways maintenance,Drainage systems and Highway Infrastructure; they just want uninterrupted travel and a safe and secure environment to live and work in. Therefore, a faster, discreet, low profile method of working is favoured in public works.

Our goal is to carry out all of our duties to the public in the safest, quickest, most non-intrusive manner. This is both the visible, measurable items such as the highway maintenance itself, but also for the invisible items such as our workforce’s attitude to the public and the culture of service to the public within the management and workforce.

We engage with local residents to make a positive, sustainable impact. In Essex we are a member of the Essex Wildlife Trust and Trident (giving young men and women interested in the construction industry work experience). Henderson & Taylor are committed to appreciating the benefits of the local wildlife and factoring for this in new projects.

Our policy is to align our community involvement with our core business activities; seeking where possible to integrate added value community benefits into our service.
