Phase One Complete on the Western EsplanadeApril 16th, 2010
Henderson & Taylor are pleased to announce that phase 1 of the cycle route 16 on Western Esplanade; Southend on Sea was completed ahead of schedule and within the allocated budget. Very positive feedback was received from both Councillor Anna Waite and Mehmet Mazhar of Southend council. The works required us to:
- Create a 2.5m wide cycle lane along 1.5km of the town centre’s Seafront
- Lay 1.5km of 6×5 BULL/NOSE kerbs along the roadside
- Renew the existing drainage and install new drainage along the cycle route
- Surface the cycle lane with 6mm SMA asphalt to create a new cycle lane.
Works were completed ahead of schedule and in budget despite the snow and freezing temperatures that plagued February 2010.
